Ali King | Director of Strategic Engagement
Ali is a passionate activist and community organizer who grew up in Miami, Florida, but found her true home in Portland, where she has lived since 1996. In 2016, she co-founded Nasty Women Get Sh*t Done, a 501(c)(4) organization that attracted national attention with the creation and distribution of the powerful and iconic “In Our America” sign - subsequently donating more than $200,000 from sales proceeds to mission-driven community organizations. Her commitment to advocacy and justice led to her working for U.S. Congressman Earl Blumenauer as Director of Constituent Services, where she played an instrumental role in a collaborative, ongoing effort to safely relocate immigrants and refugees, facilitating the resettlement of numerous at-risk families. After that, as the Policy and Advocacy Director of Our Children Oregon, she helped to advance a statewide legislative agenda prioritizing children and families.
She looks forward to continuing her commitment to social justice and human rights work and contributing to our mission.
BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Florida.
